Abstract :
Bi-directionally and counter-pumped all-Raman and Raman/EDFA hybrid amplification were experimentally compared, based on transmissions of 16×40 Gbit/s CS-RZ signals over 10×40, 5×80 and 1×160+2×120 km TW-RS fibre. Results demonstrated the relative advantage of all-distributed Raman amplification
