Abstract :
Optimal output feedback control of linear multivariable systems for quadratic performance indices is considered. An iterative algorithm for computing the optimal feedback gains is proposed that does not require a stabilizing output feedback law for initialization, rather any stabilizing state feedback law suffices. An illustrative numerical example is included.
