Abstract
The performance degradation of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems due to imperfect channel information in Rayleigh fading channels is analysed. The channel information is corrupted by the channel estimation error and outdated due to time-variation of the channel. The effective signal-to-noise ratio and the Chernoff bounds are provided for an OFDM-based wireless LAN system
