Abstract
The Precision Light Sensor (PLS)1 is a low-cost innovative approach to the problem of accurate sensing of light levels in electronic circuits, Consisting of a two-terminal monolithic integrated circuit which linearly converts light impinging upon it to a proportional output current, it is, in essence, a light- dependent current source. In addition, it requires no separate d-c bias current, thus its supply current (output current) is a linear function of light level only.
