Abstract :
Recorded domains on perpendicular recording double-layer media were imaged by magnetooptical Kerr effect microscopy. The reversal domains were observed at the edge of tracks by a head whose leading pole is wider than its trailing pole. It was found that the perpendicular magnetic field of a trailing pole overwrites the domains written by that of a leading pole
