Abstract :
A quasistatic analysis and a full-wave analysis are presented to study the coupling between two microstrip lines crossing orthogonally above a ground plane in a multilayered dielectric substrate. The quasistatic approach is based on the space domain integral equation method, modified to easily take into account the multilayered media. For the full-wave analysis, the method of moments is used, in the spectral domain, to find the currents on the strips and to directly determine the scattering parameters. A typical structure is chosen to compare the two methods
