Abstract
An analysis of a conceptual automated rework facility for use in a printed wiring assembly (PWA) manufacturing system is presented. The current manual rework system is considered as well as a conceptual automated rework facility. The total cost of rework is decomposed into a diagnostic cost and a rework cost. The reduction of this total cost is the goal of the automated facility
