Abstract :
A technique for optically coupling an array of many scintillator detector crystals to a few photomultiplier tubes and electronically de-multiplexing the individual crystal count rates has been investigated. System constraints and problems are explored. Optical and electrical circuit elements are delineated. Performance characteristics are reported.
