Abstract :
Laboratory tests investigating the thermal performance of surge arresters under contamination and wetting environmental conditions that lead to nonuniform voltage stresses along the arresters are reported. The validity and repeatability of various laboratory test procedures are examined. The results are analyzed by means of a mathematical and a physical model
