Abstract :
For some applications, the speed of the signal processing desired requires fast sampling rates. In this article, we highlight recent activity on development of photonic ADCs using optical sampling techniques. The primary purpose of this article is to highlight recent activity in the development of the optical sampling source technology and to show how different optical sampling approaches require different source technology.
