Abstract :
A 34.5 kV, three-phase, three-wire, 60 cycle subtransmission systems serving as a distribution system is considered. Transformers are fused using pole-mounted and metal-enclosed cabinet-mounted fuses, selected to coordinate with directional overcurrent and pilot wire relays at substations. Tests carried out to characterize the system parameters necessary for proper operation of the fuse are described, and the results are reported
