            Abstract :
A unified summary of recent progress on compatible impedances is presented. It is shown that C. Satyanarayana and W.-K. Chen´s (1980) theory is completely equivalent to M.R. Wohlers´ (1965) solution to the problem of compatible impedances, and that the problem of finding a lossless coupling network to transform one impedance to another specified one is equivalent to that of designing an equalizer to match an arbitrary passive lumped load to a resistive generator to yield a preassigned transducer power-gain characteristic. Thus, the two problems can be solved by the same set of formulas. Examples are given to illustrate the procedures
