Abstract
The loop transfer function of an emitter-coupled multivibrator is calculated at the instant of transition from one quasistable state to another. Equating this transfer function to unit, it is possible to obtain the static currents in the multivibrator transistors at this instant. As a result, the exact limits for the voltage on the coupling capacitor are established, and the calculation of the oscillation frequency becomes more precise. Three possible cases are considered, and the design recommendations are given. The results have been verified experimentally
