  • Abstract
    A helical traveling wave deflection system for wide-band cathode-ray tubes is considered. The system contains coaxial helices intertwined in a bifilar fashion. A model of the system, containing segments of multiconductor lines, is proposed. Dispersion equations, expressions for the input impedance of the system and a method for calculation of the electric field acting on the electrons, are derived using the model. Properties of the system are revealed.
