Abstract
A simple algorithm to decouple a multivariable system and simultaneously assign the maximum possible number of the poles of the resulting closed-loop decoupled system by the use of state variable feedback is presented. Various questions regarding the minimality of decoupled system are resolved. The whole procedure is illustrated by an example.
