Abstract
Residential networks enable one to control and to compose functions on different home appliances, but the diversity of home appliances brings various kinds of middleware into a house. If home appliances in the same house use different middleware, they cannot know one another existence needless to say using one another functions. To solve the problem of the Tower of Babel in residential networks, this paper proposes the generic framework for the interoperability of the heterogeneous middleware networks in a house. This paper describes the software components of the proposed framework and presents prototype implementation.
