Abstract
Use is made of the reference phase of low peak factor multiharmonic signals in identification experiments. It is shown that the reference phase can be used to suppress the transient of a large time constant during excitation, allowing significant reduction in experimental time. It is also shown that reference phasing can eliminate the output drift inherent when testing type 2 systems.
