Abstract :
The relative intensity noise (RIN) Fourier spectrum of a semiconductor laser with arbitrary optical feedback has been derived. The authors calculations show that intensity noise can be highly suppressed at strong feedback, and that the phase of the feedback field plays an important role in the suppression of intensity noise.
