Abstract
The distribution of excited species in a helium plasma torch is studied during the introduction of carbon tetrachloride in the main gas. This paper provides information on the processes occurring in the plasma. The method uses a fast high-resolution acquisition setup, as well as a new data processing procedure based on the Abel inversion technique that provides the radial profile of thin plasmas.
