Abstract :
The authors discuss the complete error analysis proposed by M.A. Sid-Ahmed (1989) concerning the systolic realization of 2-D digital filters. Since 2-D finite-impulse-response (FIR) digital filters can be considered as a special case of 2-D infinite-impulse-response (IIR) digital filters, the authors focus on the error analysis of 2-D IIR digital filters. After a brief description of the systolic realization, the error model for the processing element (PE) of the systolic structure, a total combined error, and the statistical quantization error are presented
