Abstract :
A wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission system using optical fibers is described. It has possible applications in a typical detector with an enormous number of readout channels as in typical Si μ-strip detectors to be applied in high energy physics experiments. A WDM transmission system basically comprises three parts: a transmitter device, optical fibers, and a receiver device. The light source, the demultiplexer, the transmitter, and the receiver are described. Radiation damage considerations in optical devices are discussed
