Abstract
The induced pulses in a multiwire proportional chamber on orthogonal cathode strips are read out by commercial delay lines. Each delay line covers a localisation area of 3 cm. In order to have a continuous localisation over 1 m, we do, at the output of each delay line, the sum of the signal at this end with the delayed pulse from the adjacent delay line. The electronical tests give a FWHM resolution of .4 mm for a simulated charge of .5 pC. We describe a time extractor circuit for the validation of time signals before coding.
