Abstract
An optical label switch using an optical digital-to-analog conversion-type label processor with self-gate-pulse generation and power equalization was achieved. Indispensable operations such as start-bit detection and power equalization were realized by recognizing the first-bit power difference and an optical-electrical-optical-type regenerator, respectively. The input dynamic ranges of 3.0 and 7.5 dB were achieved for gate-pulse generation and power equalization, and the resultant label recognition with 3.0-dB input dynamic range with both functions was obtained. An optical label switch performance with these function blocks were realized.
