Abstract
For the comparative investigation on direct-drive permanent magnet (PM) wind power generators, this paper presents the analytical approach based on transfer relations. Considering various generator types, this paper provides analytical solutions for those generators´ characteristic prediction, and the analyzed results are verified. In addition, since our analysis models are designed to be connected to a grid, the power loss characteristics according to grid output power variation are presented considering harmonics in generator current caused by the grid-connected power converter.
