Abstract
This paper describes a numerical method to calculate and control the electric field intensity at gas/dielectric boundaries in three-phase, gas insulated cables. It contains a detailed discription of the implementation of the optimization philosophy presented in Part I. Simplifying analytical techniques are presented leading to a computer algorithm that defines a dielectric profile which meets a maximum constraint for electric field intensity while minimizing the volume of spacer dielectric material.
