Abstract
An infrequent but vexing problem is the occurrence of oil mist that produces a false overheating signal on an ion chamber detector monitoring a generator for the presence of pyrolysates. Though the presence of oil mist may not affect the operation of the generator, its interference with the detection of local overheating is undesirable.
