Abstract :
Scattering and reradiation of radio signals by power lines, which causes undesired changes in broadcast antenna patterns, is discussed, using as an example station CHFA, serving Edmonton, Alberta. The computer model of a power line is presented, and it is shown how it can be used to detune the line, i.e. to suppress the current flow that is induced on the towers by the broadcast antenna which reduces the reradiated field.<>
