Abstract :
Abnormal overvoltages caused by various types of faults which are generated on the main line and neutral line cables of a complex HVDC transmission system with both overhead lines and cables and including a metallic return were analyzed by means of the CRIEPI HVDC Surge Simulator. Based on this analysis, measures for suppression were also studied.
