Abstract
Measurement techniques of the electrostatic field in an EHV environment have been considerably discussed in recent years. Most of the observations were based on experimental findings since little analytical work has been done. In this paper we present a theoretical analysis of the proximity effects on meter performance due to the operator´s body. It is shown that the local field enhancement or reduction could result in appreciable errors in the measurements. Theoretical interpretations and numerical results associated with a variety of measurement techniques are described.
