Abstract :
For the TRIUMF KAON factory booster ring, a resonant-type magnet power supply has been proposed for the dipole magnet excitation. The authors studied the effect of parameter variations of the energy storage chokes on the performance of the resonant-type ring magnet power supply with multiple resonant cells. The circuit simulation tool, SPICE, was used to simulate power supply systems with multiple resonant cells and to analyze the power supply operating conditions and their sensitivity to circuit parameter variations. Berkeley SPICE3 version 3C1 was used. The waveforms from SPICE simulations have been verified with the waveforms obtained from an experimental set-up
