Abstract :
Spectroscopic determination of laser cross-section and quantum efficiency of the Er3+ laser transition at 2.7 μm are reported for the first time for a fluoride glass of the ZBLAN type. Comparisons with crystal values and other glass compositions are given. Emission spectra of Er3+ at 2.7 μm are also presented for the first time
