Abstract :
The letter presents results on microstrip-to-waveguide coupling through a long narrow slot in the ground plane of a microstrip line. The conventional Bethe theory is applicable only when the aperture size is small compared with the wavelength. The theoretical results presented have been corrected for the large aperture effects and also by the field averaging correction and are seen to be in good agreement with the experimental results up to a slot length of 12 mm at X-band
