Abstract :
The rootmap is a convenient and informative graphical device for displaying the stability condition of two-dimensional digital filters. A simple and robust technique for calculating the rootmap for filters with support in the first quadrant is outlined. The method is readily extended to filters with arbitrary geometry and rectangular sampling. An example is given
