A High-Performance Data-Acquisition and Data-Analysis Computer System

A high-performance data-acquisition and dataanalysis computer system has been planned for the Cyclotron Institute, Texas A& M University. This system is based on a pair of identical mediumscale central processing units; it will fulfill most of the laboratory´s requirements for off-line data analysis, computation and program development while providing substantial real-time data analysis capability. The advantages of such a capability are discussed in light of our past experience with comprehensive real-time data analysis.
