Abstract :
A coherent optical QPSK transmission system with a receiver concept based on so called intradyne reception is described. The realisation of this concept comprises a novel completely digital synchronous demodulation which makes it suitable for a subscriber front end in a coherent multichannel system. The principles of operation and measurement results of a 100 Mbit/s transmission are presented.
