Abstract :
A 15-year tradition of knowledge technology research and transfer has established a niche for SWI, the social science informatics department at the University of Amsterdam. The department distinguished itself through contributions in the development of the KADS and CommonKADS engineering methods for knowledge-based systems. CommonKADS, used in both research and commercial applications, is the most widely used method for KBS development
