Abstract
A quad-band inverted-F antenna for PDA-phone applications is presented. The proposed antenna measures only 46 times 12 times 0.8 mm. It has an inverted-L element combined with a meander-line branch to excite two resonant modes. By using a matching element, the bandwidth can be broadened to cover GSM850/GSM900/DCS/PCS bands. Simulation was performed by HFSS to optimally design the antenna, and a practical structure was fabricated to verify the simulation results. The antenna parameters were measured and are presented to validate the proposed antenna.
