Abstract :
Previously with the use of computerized phantoms and simulation, it was conjectured that the x-ray dosage could be reduced by using the appropriate generalized |¿| - filter for x-ray reconstruction. In this paper, this conjecture has been confirmed by experiments that use data fromanEMI 5005 CT-scanner. Explicitly it is shown that the x-ray dosage can be lowered to 1/11 of the standard dosage while still maintaining a reconstruction accuracy which is acceptable for some applications.
