Abstract
The problems of transporting a unit of voltage, and the properties of available Zener standards, were studied to develop a set of characteristics essential for an optimum transport standard. Some of the results of this requirements study are reported and the design of this improved transport standard is explained. Efforts to select Zener diodes for the standard, and present data obtained from prototype Zener reference modules to be used in the standard are discussed
