Abstract :
The magnetic properties of a mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising ferromagnetic system on a cubic lattice are studied by Monte Carlo simulation. In particular the effect of a single-ion anisotropy on the phase diagram is investigated. Some qualitative features of the phase diagram obtained by a cluster variational treatment of the same system are confirmed.
