Abstract :
Detection of low frequency magnetic fields with interferometric fibre optic sensors has been limited by the presence of a residual signal at the carrier frequency, which upconverts low frequency noise. The authors present a technique which eliminates the residual signal and associated sideband noise, and demonstrate minimum detectable fields of ≈3 pT/√(Hz) at 10 Hz
