Abstract :
This letter describes the successful fabrication of a novel tri-layer Ag/SiO2/Ag plasmonic thermal emitter with circular and square hole shapes at top silver film arranged in a hexagonal dimple array. The proposed design improves the emission intensity and reduces the full width half maximum. Experimental results indicate that the proposed design increases the emission intensity at 200°C from 30.5 to 42.3 mW/cm2 for the hexagonal circular hole array, as well as increases the same intensity from 43.3 to 79.3 mW/cm2 for the hexagonal square hole array.
