Abstract :
A cyclic mechanical deformation process combining hydrostatic extrusion and rolling has been used to prepare strongly textured bulk multilayer samples with individual layer thicknesses on the nanometer scale. CIP-MR values in the range 8%-1% were measured in both Fe-Ag and FeNi-Ag-CoFe samples in the temperature range 5 K to 300 K. Room-temperature CPP-MR values of 6% were measured in the FeNi-Ag-CoFe sample.
