Abstract :
In this paper, a coding and decoding technique for labels based on magnetoelastic resonators is presented. For coding of the labels, the length of the resonators as well as their angular direction in the label is used. As an external bias magnetic field is used for decoding, no semihard magnetic strips are needed in the label. Low cost plastic housings with a low damping coating have been developed for these labels to achieve a high-level resonator signal.
