Abstract
A new method to synthesize a speed control system for a dc-motor which attains maximum efficiency is proposed on the basis of an improved optimal regulator theory. Almost maximum efficiency is attained with negligible steady-state error except at the transient state. Considerable improvements on the efficiency at the steady state are obtained, compared to the usual control method in which only armature impressed voltage is controlled.
