Abstract :
Sample pin injection and capacitive cable drive tests have been performed on a complete satellite system to investigate their usefulness as hardness verification tools. Standard spacecraft test equipment (EAGE), attached to the fully operated system was used to identify any function upsets via telemetry, created by the electrically simulated threat response. Additional current and field measurements were made to verify the simulation fidelity. We demonstrated, in general, that these tests would be useful in determining system hardness; however, the confidence level of the assessment would be strictly system dependent since some statistical extrapolation will be necessary.
