Abstract :
IIEEE PES is now officially the IEEE Power & Energy Society after many years of success as the IEEE Power Engineering Society. The membership of PES voted overwhelmingly in favor of the change (801 % voted in favor). Table 1 documents the chronology of events and approvals that finally concluded in the name change.
