Abstract
A two quadrant analog divider is described. Based on the Gilbert cell, it maintains an accuracy of better than 1% over three decades of denominator voltages, with the fraction |N|/D¿1; an overrange for |N|/D¿2 is available, if reduced accuracy and speed at the extreme ends of the scale are tolerated. An alternative mode of operation yields the normalized difference (VA-VB)/(VA+VB) of the two inputs VA and VB.
