Abstract
The Kansas Electric Utilities Research Program (KEURP) is a joint venture by six electric utilities in the state of Kansas to undertake and encourage applied research and development projects which may enhance reliability and minimize the cost of electric service in Kansas. The authors give a brief history of KEURP and describe its structure and operation. Several of the research projects sponsored by KEURP are described. A discussion is presented of the perceived benefits and difficulties with KEURP from a number of viewpoints
