  • Abstract
    The formation of spin-wave (SW) envelope solitons was observed in experiments on dipolar SW (or magnetostatic wave) propagation in yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) films magnetized at a small angle (θ e<15°) to the film normal. With the increase of amplitude and/or duration of the input pulse, a multisoliton regime of SW propagation was observed. The observed phenomena are interpreted in terms of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation
